3 Questions with Aaron O'Hearn
What motivated you to join the Startup Institute team?
I've jumped off a lot of cliffs (career cliffs, anyway) taking career risks by joining unproven startups and following my gut where sometimes data or other advice told me not to. That's a scary thing to do without a safety net or support system. Having the ability to create that support network, and safety net for people so they felt more comfortable taking a leap at doing something they love. That's what motivated me.
What is one piece of advice you like to share with students?
No door is closed, but it's up to you to take that first step and walk through it. The only one saying not to is you.
What has been the best thing about being a part of Startup Institute?
Being able to work next to so many smart, passionate people all looking to make a dent in the world by improving other people's lives. It's energizing and motivating beyond what I would've ever imagined.
